Semi-Permanent Make-up

SEMI-PERMANENT MAKE-UP

World-class dedicated designer of semi-permanent makeup.

Semi-permanent make-up, also known as micropigmentation, is a form of temporary cosmetic tattooing which allows you to have long-lasting eyeliner and lip colour as well as being able to shape and contour your eyebrows. The procedure involves tiny particles of pigment being placed beneath the surface of the skin. This pigment will stay in the skin for a number of years, gradually breaking down and fading with time, although the longevity of the results will depend on your age and skin type.

SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP TREATMENT AREAS

Powder Eyebrows

The “powder” technique mimics the effect you can achieve when using brow powder or pencil. It matches your natural hair color and can be used to fill in sparse areas within the eyebrow. Opposed to hair strokes, a powder-filled technique involves the application of thousands of tiny little dots of pigment, inserted into the skin, gradually building up a color and a defined shape, which covers the brow area from the inner brow through to the tail in one color.  It adds depth, definition, and results in a more ‘made up’ look.

Eyeliner Enhancement

A lash enhancement is one of the most popular eye treatments. This treatment gives a natural definition to your eyes, without the full eyeliner look.  Your technician will create a subtle line that runs through the lash line whereas eyeliner goes onto the lid.

This procedure is perfect for anyone who wants to have the look of fuller or thicker eyelashes without it looking over the top – perfect for enhancing your eyes.

Hair Stroke Eyebrows

The Hair Stroke technique is a very natural, life-like-looking brow. This technique is used to mimic natural hairs. Tiny ‘hair stokes’ of pigment are implanted under the skin to create a natural-looking brow. This is an ideal treatment for people who have experienced hair loss and don’t want a really obvious ‘made up’ brow. It is also perfect for people that already have quite good hair coverage, and for those who want to fill out gaps in their eyebrows where the hair is missing.

Lipstick Look Lips

Saturates the lips with colour – in a natural or super-intense shade. Subtly defines your lip contour and infuses colour completely throughout your lips. This treatment is the perfect way to restore the shape and fullness lost with age and transform thin or uneven lips.

Great if you want to bring a little more colour to the face and it takes the hassle out of reapplying lipstick during the day.

Eyeliner Magic Liner

Magic Liner is a popular eyeliner technique, similar to a “winged” eyeliner. This involves extending the eyeliner to achieve the classic flick at the corners of your eyes. Depending on how you like your makeup it can be as subtle or as large as you like. Exciting colors can also be used with this technique, giving an almost eyeshadow-like effect on the lid.

Ombre Lips

Discreet contouring defines your lips, with blush shading distributed partially through the lip to give the illusion of a more full and plump lip. The technique is created by using gradient shades of the desired lip color, starting with a slightly darker effect at the edges, which blends into a natural fade towards the middle of the lips.

The consultation is FREE of charge.

HOW LONG WILL SEMI-PERMANENT MAKEUP LAST?

Depending on the skin type, technique, area and pigments, the results of SPMU can last from 6 months up to 2 years. Just like hair colour, it is common for the colour (pigments) to fade with time, sun exposure and lifestyles factors. The treatment may be re-enhanced known as a “touch-up” treatment – half price within a 2-year period. Purebeau Ireland offer a “Re-touch” treatment for SPMU which is €70. This treatment must be availed within 3 months of your first initial treatment.

IS THE PROCEDURE PAINFUL?

You will be pleasantly surprised to know that you will not experience great discomfort during or after your semi-permanent makeup procedure. While it is not painless to receive semi-permanent makeup, it is not painful either. A topical anaesthetic is applied to lessen any discomfort. Most clients are thrilled with the results of their semi-permanent makeup, just as much as they are thrilled with their level of comfort involved in the process.

CAN I CHOOSE THE COLOR?

Definitely!
You will be consulted every step of the way from the desired shape to the colour selection.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

We advise clients to give themselves 2 hours, this will include the consultation, numbing and treatment application time.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

Immediately following your treatment, slight skin sensitivity in the form of tenderness, redness, swelling, flaking, drying and itchiness may be present for 2-5 days. It is normal to lose approx. 1/3 of the colour during the healing process. After most procedures the colour may be a shade too dark or in 6 days it may appear too light, however, after 10 days the colour will be the true result. It will appear softer when completely healed as the colour will come from the dermal layer of the skin to the epidermal layer of the skin. You will be expected to return for your re-touch appointment between 4-8 weeks after the initial procedure, this is to finalise the over-all treatment.
