We live in a world that is becoming more & more influenced by social media & reality TV. Many young women want to have “Angelina Jolie Lips” or the “Kim Kardashian Look”. There are businesses that use this as a marketing tool & whilst I have my own thoughts on this I believe aesthetic procedures should not change how you look but enhance your own natural beauty or correct imperfections.
Currently, the medical aesthetic industry is worth $53 billion globally and is expected to grow to $73.6 billion within the next 3 years…
Different countries have different tastes. For instance, Spain is the most popular for breast implants. The number one procedure in China is the correction of the upper eyelids.
It is interesting to note that in America of the 15 million cosmetic procedures done in 2017 over 1.3 million were on men (an increase of 273% in 20 years)
A well-cared body makes us feel better and our approach to life is more positive.
The standard of how beauty is judged in Ireland has changed over the years, the fit & healthy look has replaced the slim look.
Put simply, people want to look good!
Beauty & aesthetic treatments are popular because people not only want to feel young but also look young.
Over the last two years, we have seen a change in how aesthetic treatments are provided here. Previously it was a very specialized field but now if you look on social media or newspaper ads we can see hair salons, dental clinics, GP’s, or even nail salons offer aesthetics procedures like fillers or botox. This shows us there is an immense interest. More and more people are using these treatments to improve their look & the attitude in Ireland is becoming similar to having your hair or nails done.
There is an extensive range of procedures to choose from. Some of the most popular include Dermal fillers, Mesotherapy, Micro-Needling, Fibroblast, Botox, Chemical Peels, Semi-Permanent Makeup, and many more. Over the coming weeks, I will discuss in more detail what is involved in these procedures and why a good consultation is so important to know What, How & When to use to get the best results.
